The scenario editor

Make your own maps and missions on the phone, test them, and share them with friends.

Hold of Heroes. The built-in arena for eight bases, as West Keep earns its hero, Shieldbreaker, in the thick of the fight. Captured in the game, version 1.0.0.

Opening the editor

The Scenario editor is on the main menu. Start a new scenario with two towns and one objective, start from the arena or tower defence templates, or open one of your own files. It works offline like the rest of single-player.

Shaping the map

Choose the map's size, look and seed, then paint terrain with a brush, a line, a rectangle or a fill, and plant forests. Place units, buildings and resources for any player, and delete or select them again. Undo and redo are always a tap away; press and hold a placed piece to edit it.

Players, objectives and triggers

Each player can be a person, the computer or scripted. Write the briefing, set objectives, and mark areas of the map. Triggers make the scenario react: when a condition is met, such as a unit reaching an area or a building falling, an action runs, such as a message, new troops or a victory. The briefing screen can also change some of the match's rules.

Test, play and share

Test-play a scenario from the editor and return to it when you are done. Your scenarios are listed under Custom scenarios, ready to play. Share scenario sends the file through the phone's share sheet, and in a multiplayer room the host's scenario is sent to every player and checked before the match starts.
